TxDOT will begin making drainage improvements near a popular lake.

The $175,000 routine maintenance project will upgrade the drainage system along Farm-to-Market road 835 over the next few months.

The work, scheduled to begin next Monday, will cause the roadway to be blocked off from just south of Farm-to-Market 3523 to Farm-to-Market 3020 for around 12 days, while crews work to replace the culvert under the roadway.

During this time, Highway 84 traffic will not be able to access Buffalo Springs Lake via northbound Farm-to-Market 835, and will need to take Spur 331 (Southeast Drive) to the entrance on East 50th Street.

Other drainage improvements will be made to segments of State Highway 207 in Floyd County, and State Highway 86 in Castro County.

Work is expected to be completed in mid-June.
