Wednesday on The Chad Hasty Show, Dr. John Thomas, founder of Operation Hope, visited in studio talking about the organization's upcoming fundraiser and banquet which will feature Dr. Ben Carson as speaker.

Operation Hope is a non-profit organization based here in Lubbock. Dr. Thomas explained what the organization does, talked about the ministry and assistance to people that it provides, including medical assistance for military members injured in conflicts with ISIS.

Dr. Thomas was in Iraq five times during the past year, and was at one time operating only eight miles from where ISIS was fighting. The ministry also provides assistance to children and other people in Haiti, South America, and many other locations throughout the world.

Thomas said: "Operation Hope's main purpose is to be the hands and feet of Christ. I just want them to see the love of Christ and see what we as America stand for, and what we in American do because we are founded on Judeo-Christian values."

Dr. Ben Carson will be the speaker at the banquet which takes place on Saturday, March 28 at the Lubbock Civic Center.

Dr. Thomas also provided information about the fundraising raffle for a "3-Series" BMW, as well as live auctions for a 2.1 carat diamond and some AR-15 rifles.
