Dr. Donald May to Challenge U.S. Representative Randy Neugebauer in 2014 Election
Lubbock-area U.S. Congressman Randy Neugebauer will have some competition in the next election.
Dr. Donald May has said that he will run for Texas’ 19th Congressional District against Neugebauer.
May plans to officially announce his candidacy at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 17th at the McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center on the Texas Tech campus. He will also make the announcement at 3 p.m. on the same day at the Taylor County Republican Party Headquarters in Abilene.
John Steinmetz, a former Lubbock County Republican Party chairman, current Texas Tech regent, and president of Vista Bank, has also mentioned a possible run for the seat, but no official announcement has been made as of yet.
