The Texas Department of Public Safety seized 55 pounds of marijuana Sunday after a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle in Carson County.
At approximately 2:15 p.m., a DPS Trooper stopped a 2007 Nissan Quest traveling east on I-40 near Groom, for a traffic violation. The Trooper then discovered five large plastic-wrapped bundles of marijuana. The illegal drugs are worth approximately $333,000. The driver, Jaqueline Kelly, 26, of Moreno Valley, California, was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana. Kelly was transported and booked into the Carson County jail.
The drugs allegedly were being transported from Moreno Valley, California, to Indianapolis.
