Texas Tech’s student-run sportscast will broadcast on Fox this fall.

The Double T Insider, which produces a program highlighting all Tech sports news every week during the fall and spring semesters, announced a broadcasting deal with Fox College Sports and Fox Sports Southwest Tuesday, July 22.

The student-run broadcast was created by a partnership between the College of Media & Communication and the athletic department and began in the fall of 2012. The program is directed, filmed and edited by students from the College of Media and Communication and was nominated as one of the top college sports television shows by the College Sports Media Awards in its first season.

The media production manager for the College of Media & Communication Josh Robinson said the Insider stands to gain a much wider audience.

“With Fox Sports Southwest, we can get into the Dallas market, the Austin market and the Houston market,” Robinson said, “ Especially in areas like Dallas-Fort Worth, where our alumni base is huge.”

The Double T Insider began by just posting their videos on YouTube but in September 2013, they announced broadcasts in Lubbock, Amarillo and Midland television markets.

The show now will be broadcast exclusively on Fox Sports affiliates like Fox Sports Southwest, which covers the entire state of Texas.
