Donating Blood Is Fast, Free and Virtually Painless [Video]

I popped into United Blood Services today to donate a pint of blood for the Season of Giving Blood Drive going on now through this Saturday, Dec. 13.

Many of us are daunted by the idea of having a needle stuck into our arm and our life force being extracted.

I shot video of them putting the needle into my arm, to show how easy this really is.  It's a classic case of the fear of the hurdle being worse than the hurdle.

Plus donors this week receive a free t-shirt, pint of Blue Bell Ice Cream and are eligible for prizes which include a $50 Visa Gift Card and 5 Piece Comforter Set from Ashley Furniture, which will be given away daily.  And two grand prizes which are a Deluxe Recliner from Ashley Furniture and a PlayStation 4!
