It appears as though a tax increase is on the horizon for the City of Lubbock. In Monday's AJ, Lubbock Mayor Glen Robertson was reported as saying:

Robertson said he advocates lowering the storm water fee by shifting street expenses from the storm water fee and covering the difference with an increase in property tax.

That line was buried deep in the article and the AJ did not expand on it. Even though the AJ didn't think it was a big deal, it is. It signals a shift on the council from being anti-tax increase to at least open to the idea. No one else on the council is on record as far as supporting or opposing a tax increase though some would say that this new look council would be more willing to support such a measure. So what do you think will happen? Will the Lubbock City Council raise taxes? Share your thoughts below.
