The Lubbock City Council will meet today and on the agenda is a discussion over a possible rate increase at LP&L. The Electric Utility Board has recommended the rate increase last week. They claim the rate increase is necessary because LP&L is down money wise. The Electric Utility Board wants the increase to be effective July 1st. However, some on the council want to delay an increase and see what the Summer brings. Summer is typically when LP&L makes the bulk of their money. What do you think the City Council will do today?
