Last week was a bit of a slow week in high school football, but there were still some good games. Abernathy took down Springlike-Earth last week, resulting in the first loss for Springlike-Earth. Also, New Deal defeated Slaton, who had defeated the previously undefeated Dimmitt the week before.

This week, things are back in high gear as district play begins across many of the West Texas districts. The game of the week for this week will be Dimmitt vs. Childress. Dimmit is 4-1 this season and had been playing some great football, but if you want to check out the game, you’ll have to head out to Childress. Some of the more local games this week include Coronado vs. Odessa, Monterrey vs. Hereford, and Plainview vs. Lubbock High.

Be sure and tune in to the FAN every Friday night at 10 PM for the West Texas Friday Night Scoreboard show.
