Thanks to District 84 Representative John Frullo, very few restrictions remain on the legal carry of any bladed tool or weapon, including large knives, switchblades and even swords.

Previous laws criminalizing the carry of certain knives, whether concealed or openly, were eliminated under HB 1935, which was authored by Frullo and others, and was signed into law by Governor Greg Abbott effective September 1, 2017.

Switchblades became legal to posses in the state back in 2013.
