A candidate for the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals will visit the Hub City this week.

Democratic candidate Keith Hampton will attend a fundraiser for his campaign, and speak at the Texas Tech School of Law on Thursday and Friday.

Hampton is running against incumbent Republican Judge Sharon Keller for the position of Presiding Judge of the Court of Criminal Appeals, which is the highest court for criminal matters in Texas.

Keller has been on the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals since 1994, and has served as Presiding Judge since 2000.

Hampton, an attorney from Austin, will attend a fundraiser for his campaign on Thursday, September 20th at 5:30 p.m. at The Watson Building, located at 1109 13th Street.

He will also speak at a lunch at the Texas Tech School of Law on Friday, September 21st at noon.
