Death of Man Found Floating in Lubbock Playa Lake Could be Accidental

The death of a man found floating in a Lubbock playa lake could be accidental.
48-year-old Michael Wayland of Lubbock was found floating in the lake at Miller Park in the Melonie Park South Neighborhood near 78th Street and Memphis Avenue.
Lubbock Police found Wayland’s bicycle and personal items at the lake.
Wayland’s body was discovered in the water around 5 p.m. Sunday. There has been no word yet as to how long he had been in the water.
