David Neal Shepard Pleads Guilty in Murder for Hire Plot

The trigger-man in a Lubbock murder-for-hire plot pleaded guilty today to a charge of capital murder.

52 year-old David Neal Shepard admitted to killing Dr. Joseph Sonnier III in July of last year.  Shepard was hired by Thomas Michael Dixon to carry out the murder.

Dixon wanted Dr. Sonnier killed after Sonnier started dating Dixon’s ex-girlfriend.  David Neal Shepard will be sentenced at a later date.
