The Parents Television Council is an organization that aims to protect children from sex, violence and profanity on television. Isett explained that the organization focuses mainly of prime time broadcast television, and that many major stations such as ABC and NBC are saying that there should be no decency standards on television. Isett said determining decency was difficult because every community has a different idea about what is decent.
Isett also spoke about social media and how it’s become a “shooting match,” for politicians. He also spoke about violent video games and the Supreme Court’s decision concerning the sale of these games to minors.
