The Dallas Cowboys will have their third starting quarterback under center when they return from their bye week against the New York Giants.

ESPN's Ed Werder reported on Twitter that Dallas will start Matt Cassel at the Giants on Sunday, Oct. 18. Brandon Weeden will return to his role as a backup in Tony Romo's absence.

Cassel will serve as the start until Romo returns, which likely will be around Thanksgiving. He was acquired in a trade with the Buffalo Bills after Romo was injured in Week 2.
