Craig Wells Named Assistant Athletic Director for Texas Tech Basketball

Red Raider basketball now has an assistant athletic director.

Craig Wells, who has served in the Texas Tech University Athletics Department for nearly a decade has been named as the first assistant athletic director for basketball operations.

Wells joined the athletics staff in 2002, and was most recently involved with external operations.

Wells is currently on the Lubbock Power & Light Board of Directors, is a past chairman of United Way and past president of the Lubbock Rotary Club.

Red Raider Men’s Basketball Head Coach Billy Gillispie commented on Wells’ new position, saying “We are really excited about Craig being able to focus his attention fully on men’s basketball.”

Wells said “I look forward to many great years under the leadership of coach Gillispie.”
