On Thursday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Emily Thompson, head of the Cotton Blue to Green Recycling Program, talked with Tom Collins and Laura Mac about a denim donation program.

The "Drop Your Jeans" program is a denim recycling program that takes old denim and recycles it into environmentally-friendly insulation. Thompson said that this year, their goal was to raise 12,000 pounds of denim, or roughly 6,000 pairs of jeans. But it's not just limited to jeans. Thompson added that any sort of denim, regardless of the condition, would be accepted.

You can drop off your jeans at the Texas Farm Bureau Office, Gebo's, Haverty's and at Market Street on 98th and Quaker. The denim donation drive ends on October 31st.
