On Monday's edition of Lubbock's Fist News, Congressman Randy Neugebauer talked with Chad and Rex about Standard and Poor's decision to downgrade the U.S. credit rating from AAA to AA+.

Neugebauer said that he was not surprised by S&P's decision, and stated that Congress did not come up with a big solution to a big problem. He said that the Obama administration could have avoided this problem if they had instituted bigger spending cuts. As for the effects it would have on the American people, Neugebauer said that these were "uncharted waters," and that no one is really sure of what the effects will be.

You can listen to Congressman Randy Neugebauer every Monday at 7:35 on Lubbock's First News.
