On Monday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Congressman Randy Neugebauer talked with Tom Collins and Laura Mac about the latest going on in Washington.

Congress will resume next week after a two-week recess for the Easter holiday. And Neugebauer predicts that the big topic when Congress resumes will be immigration reform. He said there are four major points to consider when it comes to immigration reform: including reforming existing policies, providing employers with info on immigrants, and what to do with illegal immigrants.

However, Neugebauer said the most important part of the immigration reform is border security. He added that many other countries have far stricter border security policies that America has now, and that the country must start treating border security as a serious issue.

"I think one of the reasons that has brought our country to where we are today is the fact that we have not treated border security seriously in this country. And as a result of that, we have a lot of people that have [illegal] status in this country. And I think...anything that we do moving forward, we have to be serious about making sure that we have strong border control in place, but also the enforcement."
