Congressman Randy Neugebauer visited with Lubbock's First News featuring Tom Collins and Laura Mac Monday morning and discussed the ISIS situation in the Middle East.

Neugebauer feels the current administration's ignoring of current intelligence reports has only made the problems with the Islamic State worse.

"What really disturbs me most is we knew and then we didn't act," Neugebauer said. "There were opportunities before this got this far along for for us to do some strategic air strikes, when we all sat on the evening news and watched ISIS or ISIL caravanning across Northern Iraq just out there in the open in our Humvees and we just sat there and watched them do that and then we wonder why it is such a problem today."

Neugebauer said the fact that ISIS militants have infiltrated the Iraqi civilian population makes dealing with the issue even harder at the present time.

Neugebauer also addressed the recent resignation of U.S. Attorney general Eric Holder catching him by surprise.

Neugebauer said he believes the regardless who replaces Holder as the nation's lead law enforcement official  they "need to enforce the law, not change the law."
