Lubbock County Commissioners again chose to table redistricting plans in a meeting Monday morning. State and Federal governments have yet to come to a decisive end on Texas redistricting maps, leaving county election offices in a bind. County Commissioner Patti Jones restated much of what was said in a special meeting last week, expressing frustration at the lack of decision on higher levels. " It's aggravating because there are so many processes that have to happen before you hold an election, and it's got our elections office at a stand-still right now."

If the court was to come to a decision before state and federal agencies, they would possibly have to change their decision later on, meaning tens of thousands of dollars in reprinting fees, plus the reissuing of voter registration cards. The court is still hopeful that a decision will be made by January, to allow for March primary elections.
