Lubbock County Commissioners voted Monday to extend the burn ban. This ban will last 90 days or until the drought ceases. This prohibits things such as campfires. In light of the current dry state of the county, extending the burn ban goes without question.

The burn ban does allow welding and agricultural burns, however there are strict regulations on these activities.  The fine for violating the burn ban is $500. You can see the news release, which contains specifics on welding restrictions, here.
