Commissioner Bill McCay Dodges Questions About a Pay Raise for Commissioners and Budget Cuts
On Lubbock’s First News on KFYO, county commissioner Bill McCay was asked about areas in the budget where spending could be cut.
“Specific areas to cut spending? When we look at the budget requests, that’s the best time to answer that question.”
That won’t happen until after the election.
McCay had a similar answer when asked if he would support a raise for the commissioners.
“At the beginning of the budget cycle, we work through that. But that’s pretty low on the priority list.”
