One of Clovis’s most wanted was captured last weekend.

On Friday, July 26th, the Clovis Police Department received information about the location of a fugitive wanted on several warrants by a local bail bondsman.

The fugitive is Patrick George Lopez, who was wanted in connection with two outstanding warrants. One warrant is for aggravated driving while impaired/intoxicated by liquor or drugs, and the other for concealing his identity.

Clovis Police arrived at the Westward Ho Hotel in the 600 Block of East 1st Street in Clovis, and as officers attempted to make contact with Lopez, he attempted to escape by breaking through the ceiling in the hotel room and entering the attic area.

Information had been provided that Lopez reportedly had a firearm, and he has criminal history indicating his possession and use of a firearm.

The Clovis Police SWAT Team was called out, and after a six-hour stand-off with Lopez, he was taken into custody.

Lopez now has additional charges of resisting arrest, felony criminal damage, and possession of a controlled substance.
