City of Lubbock Reminds Citizens to Contact Lubbock Power and Light Directly for Downed Power Lines on Trees

The City of Lubbock has received reports that citizens have been told to contact the fire department if they have downed trees or see power lines on trees, which is not the proper way to handle those situations.

If you have a downed tree or see a power line in a tree, contact Lubbock Power and Light at 775-2509 until 5 p.m. or 775-2555 at any time.

Only call 911 if a power line poses a danger on the ground. The City reminds citizens to save 911 for emergencies only.
