With summer temperatures already underway, Lubbock’s municipal pools will open next week.

The City of Lubbock’s four pools will open for the 2011 season on Tuesday, May 31st at 1 p.m., and will be open Tuesdays through Sundays from 1 to 6 p.m.

Each pool offers different amenities, such as Clapp Pool, located at 46th Street and Avenue U, which has a water slide, concession stands, diving board, and is ADA accessible, as is Montelongo Pool, located at 3200 Bates Street.

The other pools are Maxey Pool at 4007 30th Street and the Mae Simmons Pool at 24th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

Entrance fees are $2.00 for ages 17 and under and $2.50 for adults. The pools are available for parties Thursday through Sunday for groups of 35 or more.

Summer passes are available at each pool as well. More information is available by calling 775-2673.
