The City of Lubbock’s Libraries Board is seeking citizen input.

The board will sponsor a Town Hall meeting on Thursday, April 18th from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Godeke Branch Library, located at 6707 Slide Road.

The Libraries Board and Friends of the Library are soliciting public input on relocating Godeke, which is currently in a shopping center under a lease which costs $25,000 per month.

The public is also invited to suggest elements for a master plan for local libraries for the future, including when and where they should be built, and what electronic and traditional materials and services should be offered.

Board leaders will also outline what is currently being done regarding libraries at the municipal level, and the Friends of the Library will reveal what is underway at Texas Tech.

The group will incorporate ideas into a report for the Lubbock City Council to consider, and all proposals are welcome.
