A drive-thru flu vaccine clinic will be held later this week.

The City of Lubbock Health Department will have an adult drive-thru clinic for seasonal influenza vaccine for those ages 19 and older on Thursday.

The clinic will be held in the Health Department parking lot located at 1902 Texas Avenue from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Payment is $20, cash or check only and Medicare is not accepted.

To access the drive-thru clinic, you must go into the Health Department parking lot heading north on Avenue J, and all other routes will be barricaded. The city says that it is mandatory that all attendees must follow these directions:

  • Take 19th Street to Texas Avenue
  • Head south on Texas Avenue to 23rd Street
  • Turn west onto 23rd Street
  • Take 23rd Street to Avenue J
  • Turn north onto Avenue J, which will lead you to the Health Department parking lot.

Everyone attending the clinic must be in a vehicle. Those who are running a fever, have an allergy to eggs, or have had a severe reaction to a previous flu shot should not receive the vaccine.

No children will be vaccinated during this clinic, and all attending the clinic must be in a vehicle.
