City of Lubbock Activates Emergency Operations Center

In the wake of damage across the City of Lubbock after this evening's haboob; the city has activated the Emergency Operations Center.

CITY OF LUBBOCK

October 17, 2011

The City of Lubbock has activated its Emergency Operations Center (EOC) due to high winds and dust across the city.  There have been multiple reports of power lines down and roads blocked by down power line poles and trees and damage to buildings.

Please do not drive tonight unless absolutely necessary.  If you must drive, please do so carefully.
