A celebration this weekend will involve a tamale festival in the Hub City.

The Rawlings Community Center will be hosting their first Cinco de Mayo Celebration and Tamale Festival on Saturday.

The event will run from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m., and will feature music, carnival games, contests, prizes, entertainment, refreshments, and more.

Contests will include the Best Tamale Contest, Chihuahua Dog Show, and Selena look-alike contests. Each contest has a $1 entry fee, and all dogs must have proof of current vaccinations and remain on a leash at all times.

A family dance celebration will also be held from 6 until 8 p.m.

The Rawlings Community Center is located at 40th Street and Avenue B.
