Back in late January, Texas Tech men's basketball coach Chris Beard suffered a torn ACL during a practice. However, being the gritty individual he is, Beard continued to coach on the bad knee, and even took a bit of a stumble during a game against Iowa State.

We are now in the month of August, and Coach Beard has finally gone under the knife to fix the torn ACL and will look to be back on the court soon.

Coach Beard has around three months before the Red Raiders play their first game of the season at home against Incarnate Word. I expect Beard to be on the sidelines directing traffic and leading the Red Raiders to a home victory with no restrictions at all.

Here's to a speedy recovery for Coach Beard!
