The debate was long and not always friendly, but eventually the house approved the fiscal bill early Friday.  State rep. Charles Perry said it wasn’t perfect, but it was a good budget.

“There are still some things in there that probably stretch out there a little further than what they should as far as government’s role goes, but overall, the budget’s a good budget for where we’re at as an economy,” Rep. Perry said.

“We lived within our means.  We didn’t raise much new taxes to cover the shortfall.  We were prudent with our savings account.”

Perry said there are some things he would change if he could, but overall the budget is reflective of where the state needs to be.
