Chamber of Commerce Will Honor the School Board Next Monday

A month ago, the Lubbock School Board was named the outstanding Texas school board in during a convention in Austin.  On Lubbock’s First News on KFYO, Eddie McBride, the president of the Chamber of Commerce, announced that the chamber will hold a news conference and reception to recognize the board’s accomplishments.

“We think it’s significant because we know what a tough job these folks have,” McBride said.  “We’re pretty proud of the fact that they were recognized by the superintendents, the Texas Association of School Administrators, and the Texas Association of School Boards.

The chamber will show its appreciation at a news conference at 4:30  Monday, followed by a reception at 5:00.  Both events will be at the American  State Bank Conference Center at  1501 Avenue Q.  The public is invited to the celebration.
