Chad’s Morning Brief: Texas House Passes Sanctuary City Ban
After hours of debate, the Texas House passed legislation banning Sanctuary Cities in Texas. The biggest debate broke out over a change in the language of the bill that would allow law enforcement to inquire about immigration status if a person is "lawfully detained". The change passed and eventually S.B.4 did as well. Democrats continued to oppose the bill and will probably do everything they can to get the courts involved.
