The race for the Republican nomination isn't over yet, but unless something dramatic happens soon Donald Trump will be the Republican nominee. Yes, it is possible that there will be a contested election but at this point doesn't that sound like a scenario detached from reality?

Don't get me wrong. I still believe that Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio are more conservative than Trump and I still believe that they would do better things for this country, but they both need something big to happen and soon. For Cruz, he needs Rubio to drop out BEFORE Florida. For Rubio, he needs real momentum and he has to win Florida. The chances of Trump winning the nomination is greater than both of those scenarios.

While Cruz won Texas, Oklahoma, and Alaska and Rubio won Minnesota, Donald Trump dominated the rest of the Super Tuesday states. Trump continues to win among all age groups, evangelicals, moderates, and conservatives. Tuesday belonged to Trump and this election may belong to Trump as well.

On the show today, I'll have much more analysis of last night's results and where the GOP goes from here. Tomorrow, we will return to the video edition of the Morning Brief.
