Looking for a new place to catch the big game? Maybe you are just looking for a good patio to relax on, or looking to party the night away. The Blue Monkey Grill has you covered.

Located at 9th and X in the Overton area, Blue Monkey is close to all the action at Texas Tech. A group of us decided to try out Blue Monkey this weekend and I found it an enjoyable experience. I really like the look of Blue Monkey. It's a large and open space with great lighting. During the day, it's a laid back grill and sports bar with a great patio. You are surrounded by TV's which means there is no bad seat in the place. On Friday and Saturday nights, the music gets cranked up and the party moves to Blue Monkey.

The food is good. My wife loved the burger with goat cheese she had and the sliders looked great. The menu isn't very deep, but it doesn't need to be. Blue Monkey is a place to hang out and enjoy a few drinks. Which brings me to one of the best things about Blue Monkey, the drinks.

Every day of the week you will find a new drink special. Monday's are $2 dollar domestic pints, Tuesday's are $2 dollar Crown... I like this. On Saturday, when we went, the special was $3 dollar drafts, imports, and craft bottles. Yes, they even have specials on Sundays with $2 dollar Mimosas and Bloody Marys. Not bad. Like I said, great drink specials.

For a casual and laid back experience, get your friends together and give the Blue Monkey Grill a try.
