Wednesday on The Chad Hasty Show, Chad provided his thoughts on yesterday's resignation of Eric Casebolt, the police officer recently in the news because of his handling of the 'pool party' incident in McKinney, Texas this past Friday. Hasty also talked about the media's take and reporting on the incident.

Casebolt resigned after widespread condemnation of his actions while trying to gain control of the situation that involved a large, agitated crowd. Chad blames poor media reporting procedures and their sources of information for being at least part of the problem. Hasty said,

It seems like, more and more, when it comes to these police issues, that the news media is reacting to Twitter more than they are reacting to the story itself. Instead of finding out the facts, instead of going through and interviewing all the neighbors, talking to everybody who was there, the media instead feeds off of Twitter. And maybe that's just because it's easy.

Hasty continued to talk about the city of McKinney's response to the matter, specifically McKinney Chief of Police Greg Conley's statement at a press conference yesterday. On the city's reaction, Hasty remarked,

It doesn't surprise me, I think it's spineless. Once again, as I brought up earlier, you've seen cases all around the nation, including here in Lubbock, to a lesser degree, but you have seen where city officials don't stand by the police force. They give in to demands, they give in to lawsuits, they give in to whatever.
