Chad Wheeler and Jocelyn Wiebe of Carpenter's Church joined Lubbock's First News on Monday (August 3) to discuss their hopes of expanding their Housing First Program.

"Thanks to the very generous donation from the J.T. & Margaret Talkington Charitable Foundation we're able to announce that they have given us a grant of $976,000 to expand our housing first program by building five new duplexes," said Wiebe. "Through their generous donation, the Talkington Foundation is making it possible for us to not only build the units but also to provide the services for at least a year."

The donation is the largest donation that Carpenter's Church has ever received.
