On Thursday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Carl Tepper talked with Chad and Rex about his campaign for Lubbock County Republican Party Chairman.

Tepper said he has been involved in Republican politics all his life, and felt that it was time for him to step up. He said that the Republican party in Lubbock is more unified and has advanced beyond most of the other parties he's seen, but that the party could use some more energy.

"I believe we need a vibrant Republican party here in Lubbock."

Tepper compared the Democratic party to the Occupy movement, and said that the Republicans really need to encourage people to go out and vote. He said that, if elected, he would like to focus more on the local issues affecting the party.
