Wednesday on The Chad Hasty Show, guest host Carl Tepper was joined by Ken Corbin and Mikel Ward to discuss hot-button issues surrounding the city of Lubbock including the budget and debt, taxes and tax rates, the coliseum, civic center and a possible new dirt-floor arena.

Corbin and Tepper also discussed the Texas Tech University Board of Regents and the forced resignation of Texas Tech Chancellor Robert L. Duncan, as well as the future of veterinary and dental schools at Texas Tech.

While on the topic of the tactics used recently by the Regents, Tepper said,

This has become a good example of The Sopranos played out in real life. They took out one of our guys, they took out Bob Duncan, and I think they were trying to give in on something so they could keep moving forward with the dental school. They got nothing in the end because they showed weakness. And now A&M's trying to completely smother anything Tech was trying to do to expand. So way to go Rick Francis and Board of Regents, you did a horrible job, especially you five who voted to fire our guy.
