Lubbock's CapRock Winery is undergoing considerable renovation in an effort to relaunch the facility.

John English, one of the new owners of CapRock Winery, joined Tom and Laura on the air Wednesday morning to talk about those renovations and what they mean for the winery's relaunch.

According to English, a new bridal suite room is being built on the premises. In addition, new elevated patios that look over the vineyard are also being built -- an effort to provide Lubbockites with an "un-Lubbock-esque atmosphere," English told Tom and Laura.

A West Texas native and wine aficionado, English touted wine as more of an experience than just a drink.

"Wine is different from other alcoholic beverages because there's a story to it," said English. "It takes time and professionalism to really make a good glass of wine."

To that end, English is teaming with longtime wine maker Mike Sipowicz to launch several new wines. Sipowicz started at the CapRock Winery as an intern at just 18 years old, English explained.

Lubbock-born musician Tori Vasquez is also playing a concert at the winery March 1. Vasquez has recently released a music video that's received some national attention, along with a new album called "Go Thank Yourself."
