Candlelight Vigil for Maria Perez Tonight

The family of murdered Lubbock woman, Maria Perez will hold a candlelight vigil at 9pm tonight at Maria’s apartment at 47th and Elgin.  The vigil is to help shine the light on abusive relationships and their dangers.  Also, a memorial fund has been set up for Maria’s four children. Donations can be made at the 1st Convenience Banks at local Wal-Mart stores.

Maria was found dead in her home Friday, April 13th. 41-year-old Steve Ballesteros was arrested that same day and has since been charged with her murder. Perez's cause of death has not yet been determined.
