[UPDATE] Pictures of the suspect in the Burns Park shooting were released by Lubbock police. You can see both above.

[ORIGINAL STORY] A brawl involving dozens turned into a shooting Wednesday night (March 8) at Burns Park, leaving one person dead.

Lubbock police say multiple people called in to report gunshots near 24th Place and Avenue L. One person was reportedly struck during the shooting.

The victim was identified Thursday morning by the Lubbock Police Department as Roy Reed (20). According to police, Reed was brought to Covenant Medical Center by private vehicle after he was shot. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

It's unclear what sparked the multi-person brawl that preceded the shooting, but police say two rival groups composed of around 50 people met at Burns Park "with the intention to fight" or to watch the fight.

Detectives are investigating the crime, but have yet to arrest anyone who participated in the fight or name a suspect in Reed's shooting death.

Citizens with information about the shooting may call the Crime Line at 806-741-1000.
