Lubbock County’s burn ban has been lifted.

Lubbock County Judge Tom Head ruled that circumstances no longer exist in the unincorporated areas of Lubbock County to create a public safety hazard made more hazardous by outdoor burning.

The burn ban has been in effect since April 9th of this year.

Recent rains this year have made the situation less dangerous regarding fire danger in areas of the County.

The Lubbock County Judge has the authority to determine the conditions for wildfire danger and make the decision to create or cancel a burn ban.
