A burglary suspect who was shot by a Lubbock homeowner earlier this month was released from Covenant Medical Center and arrested by authorities Monday.

Clayton Ross Fillingim, 33, of New Home, is charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit a felony. Fillingim was shot in the abdomen by a homeowner in the 3700 block of 28th Street back on October 23 around 2:15 a.m.

"The victims, a family of six, advised police they were sleeping when the suspect broke through a back door and entered their kitchen. One of the victims heard the suspect and alerted his parents there was an unknown man in their home. The father advised he warned the suspect he had a gun, police were on the way and he needed to leave," a news release from Lubbock Police stated.

According to KMAC, Fillingim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken Covenant Medical Center. None of the victims in the  home were injured.

Fillingim is being held on a $200,000 bond.
