On Friday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Jennifer Meritz from Buffalo Springs Lake talked with Tom Collins and guest host Sondra Ziegler about the lake's upcoming fireworks show.

Buffalo Springs Lake will be hosting their annual fireworks show on Wednesday, July 3rd. During the show, you can tune in to 98.1 KOOL FM, where patriotic music will be playing choreographed with the fireworks. Meritz reminded that personal fireworks are not allowed at the lake. She also recommended that, due to heavy traffic, people who plan to go to the show get there as early as they can, and that the permits for the lake are good until midnight, so there' no rush to leave the lake.

The fireworks show will start shortly after 9:00 PM Wednesday night. Gate admission is $6 for adults, $3 for kids 6-11 and kids 5 and under are free.
