An annual barbeque tradition will be held next month.

Buffalo Springs Lake’s 8th Annual State Championship Buffalo Wing Cook Off will be held Friday, April 13th and Saturday, April 14th.

The cook-off is an International BBQ Cookers Association sanctioned event, and the guaranteed pay-out is $10,000.

The official categories are beef brisket, pork spare ribs, chicken and buffalo chicken wings, as well as a pinto bean category. All meats must be cooked on site at the event. All four meats must be cooked by a competitor to be considered for the grand champion award.

To participate, entry fees are:

  • All four meats - $100
  • Brisket, ribs, chicken - $75
  • Individual meats - $35
  • Buffalo chicken wings - $25
  • Pinto beans - $10
