City of Lubbock museums will participate in an annual event Saturday.

The Buddy Holly Center and the Silent Wings Museum will participate in Smithsonian Magazine’s 8th annual Museum Day on Saturday, September 28th.

Participating museums will open their doors, free of charge, to all visitors who download the Museum Day ticket from www.smithsonian.com/museumday.

Visitors who present the official pass will gain free admission for two people to the participating museums and other cultural venues.

One ticket is permitted per household and per email address.

The event emulates the free admission policy of the Smithsonian Institution’s facilities based in Washington, D.C.

The Buddy Holly Center is located at 1801 Crickets Avenue and the Silent Wings Museum is located at 6202 I-27 near the Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport.
