Overnight rain has delayed the opening of the eastbound main lanes of South Loop 289 and the Slide Road bridge.

TxDOT announced Thursday that the roadway was reduced to one-lane traffic to allow road crews to make overnight repairs on the bridge joints.

Traffic will remain down to one-lane until the repairs are completed. Crews also closed the eastbound Spur 327 on-ramp to the Loop main lanes to eas traffic congestion.

Eastbound Spur 327 traffic are advised to take the Loop frontage road to connect to the Loop main lanes.

The total cost of the project on the Slide Road bridge project is part of $475,000 bridge preventative maintenance project to make repairs on bridge decks and joints on various Lubbock area roadways.
