A charter bus carrying about 25 students from EPISD has been involved in a deadly head-on crash in Hudspeth County, according to NewsChannel 9.

Gustavo Reveles, EPISD spokesperson, told KTSM that the students are from El Paso High, Austin, Irvin, Andress, Chapin, Jefferson, and Burges. They were coming back from the regional track meet in Lubbock when a pickup truck driver who was traveling in the wrong direction was heading at them. Both the pickup and the bus veered in the same direction hitting each other head on.

Two people have been confirmed to have died, but have not been identified. As soon as we get further information, we will update this blog.

Our hearts and prayers go out the schools and students involved. We are praying for their safe return.
